Dr. Zakiyah Khatree

Alternative Prescription Medicine Specialist

Dr. Khatree is a Alternative Prescription Medicine General Practitioner at Rise Dispensary, specialising in treating chronic disease, ADHD, autism, anxiety and depression, PTSD, women’s health, and insomnia.

Dr. Khatree enjoys working as a general practitioner at Rise because it is an independent clinic where she can be a part of a full-service team, providing care that meets patients’ specific needs. From the receptionist who schedules your appointment, to the doctor, to the staff, the pharmacist, and afterwards, the Rise staff are all committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for their patients.

After many years working at hospitals in emergency and ICU, Dr. Khatree became interested in holistic medicine. This inspired her to make the change to working as a general practitioner, where she could help patients manage their health in the long-term.  Dr. Khatree finds it more rewarding to be able to follow up and provide ongoing support, to create better treatment and outcomes to suit the patient’s individual needs.

Previously, as a general practitioner in a large clinic, Dr. Khatree had a large patient base and discovered that for some patients, no matter what treatment they tried, conventional medicines were ineffective. After receiving advice from an associate pharmacist, Dr. Khatree began trialing alternative prescription medicines on suitable patients, observing excellent results, particularly in the realms of improving quality of life, mental health, sleep, and pain management.

Observing alternative prescription medicines as an effective treatment for a variety of medical conditions with many beneficial effects including anti-inflammatory, anti-emetic, anti-anxiety, pain modulator, and sleep aid, Dr. Khatree is able to use this medicine in various combinations to achieve the desired positive effect and improve a patient’s quality of life.

Dr. Khatree finds it extremely rewarding to observe a clinical improvement in a patient who has been struggling with multiple conditions who is now taking a medication that is improving their individual outcomes. She says, “It is satisfying for a general practitioner to observe patients thriving and being able to live happy, fulfilled lives.”

When not treating patients, Dr. Khatree enjoys hiking, camping, and snorkelling.
